What do you like most?

That I can monitor the fees whilst the project is ongoing, not just once the phase has been completed. In our architectural practice, it’s easy to get carried away by a good idea and spend more hours on a project proposal than we can actually afford, and in the past we often realised this far too late. Now I can see expenditure per phase in real time and make adjustments whilst there’s still time to do so. I also like the fact that it’s all in one place: architects, structural engineers and the consultants we bring in all record their work in the same system, so I don’t have to chase people up for timesheets at the end of the month.

What do you like least?

I’d quite like to see a bit more up-to-date content on eazyacademy. When I need to show a new colleague how we do things, I sometimes find that the material is a step behind the latest changes to the system. I’d also like a single place where I can see what’s new in eazyproject. Things are constantly being improved, but I often only notice these changes by chance, and I’d prefer to be able to keep up to date in one place instead.

What business-critical problems do you feel Eazyproject solves?

The biggest challenge was managing fees across the different phases. We had a project where the project proposal was starting to eat into the hours allocated to the main project, and because the figures were available on an ongoing basis, I was able to discuss the scope with the client before we went off track, rather than having to absorb the loss ourselves. Resources were the other issue. There are just a handful of us, and we’re spread across several projects at once; previously, two project architects would often book the same colleague for the same week. Now I can see who actually has capacity before I allocate tasks. And then there’s the very practical side of progress payments and documentation: when hours are properly recorded as we go along, the basis for invoicing is in place, without anyone having to dig through old emails. It’s taken some of the administrative hassle out of the month-end closing.

What do you like most?

That I can see what’s actually going on without having to chase people up for answers. We used to work with spreadsheets that were never up to date, and there was always someone who had a different version. Now everything’s in one place. I mainly use it to keep track of who’s busy in my team and who’s got some breathing space, and that’s actually where it really helps me and the team in our day-to-day work. And it was easy to get started, which I’d expected would take longer.

What do you like least?

I’d quite like to see some more up-to-date content on EazyAcademy. When I need to look something up or show a new colleague how to do something, I sometimes find that the material isn’t quite in line with the latest updates in Eazy Project.

What business-critical problems do you feel Eazyproject solves?

As someone who both codes and wears the project manager’s hat, my biggest headache was keeping track of time when I was deeply immersed in a task myself. It’s easy to lose track of how much time has actually passed when you’re in the middle of something. For example: we had a management software module where the estimate was 400 hours, and because we were logging our time as we went along, I could see as early as around the 300-hour mark that we were heading well over budget. Eazy Project gave us the chance to raise the issue with the client in good time, rather than being left with the bill afterwards. Resources were the other major issue. We have several engineers, consultants and developers who are pulled in across different projects, and previously it often happened that I’d count on a colleague who another project manager had also booked for the same sprint. Now I can see who actually has capacity before I commit to anything further in the system. And then, on a purely practical level: status reporting. I’d rather spend my time on the actual work than gathering figures from three different sources to produce a monthly overview. What used to take me half a day, I can now do in a few minutes, and the figures actually add up. The EazyProject app works very well too.

What do you like most?

I use EazyProject in my small consultancy business, where I do a lot of freelance work for various clients. For me, EazyProject has been especially helpful in keeping track of hours, tasks and invoicing, so I don't lose track when I switch between projects. What I particularly like about EazyProject is how easy it is to record time and upload expenses directly in the app. It's also easy to create invoices for different customers.

What do you like least?

Some features in EazyProject require too many clicks.

What business-critical problems do you feel Eazyproject solves?

I use EaztProject as a project management tool. I keep track of customers, tasks and finances. I've also used EazyProject to create reports that I've used for invoicing, documentation for customers and my own overview.
