Used Sharp cash register system in two stores for 6 months which has been riddled with problems with basically everything, integrations, accounting, VAT, gift cards etc etc. things that make you lose your chin. After 6 months we are still in contact with the support 2-3 times a week for various bug fixes and other things that do not work. When we finally decide to try to end the contract early, sharp refuses to let us go and we have to continue to pay for a system and hardware we do not use for another 3.5 years. In addition to the actual function being lousy, the whole system is also outdated and the interface, back office etc looks like it's from the late 90s.
What business-critical problems do you feel Sharp POS solves?
We had hoped and expected that the system would be integrated so that when changing prices and adding new items we did not have to change several parts but only one change (cash register, scale, shelf edge). This was never realised, however, they always said that a new update was underway, which during the 6 months it was talked about but which in the end never came.
